DRX9000C

Dr. David Gibson was the first Chiropractic Doctor to introduce the DRX9000C to Greensboro, NC.

The DRX9000C is “state of the art” equipment designed to treat disc bulges and herniations in the neck and low back. In the past, surgery has been the primary method to treat certain bulges and herniations. Sometimes these surgeries are successful. Many times, however, patients report continued pain and have repeated surgeries. Also, any surgery runs the risk of side effects due to anesthesia and medication, as well as infection. There is also the possibility of human error.

DRX9000C Spinal Decompression has none of these side effects. Furthermore, follow-up MRI studies have demonstrated a reduction in the size of bulge or herniation after treatment with spinal decompression is possible.

DRX spinal decompression for low pain bain and neck painThe treatment protocol involves a series of visits that start with ultrasound and heat. The heat and ultrasound introduce deep heat into tissues of the low back or neck, relax stiff muscles, and increase blood flow. The plan follows with 30 minutes of time spent on the DRX9000C. The visit is concluded with electrical muscle stimulation and ice. Most patients find the time spent on the DRX to be painless. In fact, many patients go into a very relaxed state and often fall asleep.

Almost all patients have arrived in this condition over an extended period of time. A patient with a disc bulge or herniation usually has degenerative changes, as well as structural and muscular imbalances.

Furthermore, use of complimentary techniques used by Dr. Gibson including the ProAdjuster and Neurmuscular Reabilitation Exercise have met with much patient success towards achieving better overall physical functioning and performance.

The ProAdjuster has been a very effective complimentary tool to restore motion at the very segments that are being treated with the DRX9000C. The ProAdjuster restores motion with an oscillatory type method. It does not use a one force movement like manual adjusting. It is very safe and effective to use at locations of disc injury because of this fact.

Neuromuscular rehab exercises are also incorporated late in the protocol to address the muscular imbalance, weakness, and relative lack of paraspinal muscle coordination observed in patients with chronic back and neck conditions. It makes little sense to complete a spinal decompression program without training and strengthening the muscles that provide support and coordination to that spine. A rehab exercise program is designed to meet a patient’s specific needs so all treatment gains are long lasting.
